Location: Egerton Crescent, London

Price: £11.25 million (US$14.8 million)

This Grade II-listed white-stucco-fronted property, comes with a storied past. Originally called Brompton Crescent, Egerton Crescent was renamed in 1896 in honor of Francis Egerton, the 3rd Duke of Bridgewater.

The crescent has been home to a succession of notable characters, including the late broadcaster David Frost, according to the home’s agent Jake Russell.

This home, which sits on the easterly side of the crescent, has itself housed an eclectic group of characters, most notably Princess Anne of Denmark, first cousin to Queen Elizabeth II, who rented the property during the 1958 London social season. She hosted a number of balls in this home for the social debut of her 16-year-old daughter, Lady Elizabeth Anson. Lady Elizabeth went on to become one of London’s most famous party planners, organizing parties for the likes of the Clintons, Mick Jagger, and the Queen herself, according to Mr. Russell.

Brought to the market for the first time in over 50 years, this house on Egerton is a treasure trove of original period features, with multiple elegant reception rooms and high ceilings throughout.

With so many original details intact, Mr. Russell pointed out, the home is the perfect candidate for an exciting refurbishment project.
