"When you walk into the house you feel like you’re walking into Andy Warhol’s studio," said the self-proclaimed "Prince of Montauk" and Nest Seekers International property agent Dylan Eckardt about artist and photographer Raphael Mazzucco’s one-of-a-kind Montauk abode.

Mr. Eckardt’s brash enthusiasm is fittingly paired with Mr. Mazzucco’s unique retreat, which at points seems more like an audacious art project than a Hamptons property.

The fully customized residence—constructed with wood reclaimed from the Old Montauk Yacht Club—includes many unique features, like several koi ponds, a paint-splattered floor achieved through over a decade of artistic production, and sunken stones in a naturalistic, almost tropical bathroom with an angular teak tub.

There’s also a secret room, cleverly hidden behind a false wall somewhere in the home’s dark interior.

The residence also contains lots of Mr. Mazzucco’s vibrant art hanging high on the dark textured walls and leaning low against the Pollock-esque floor. For those struck by this work, Mr.Eckardt notes, all the work is available by separate negotiation.

"It’s a show house. It’s a place you walk in and tell stories about for the next 10 years," Mr. Eckardt said. Many, including himself, have often found themselves at Mr. Mazzucco’s home for late night parties, in-house photo shoots and family-style dinners. "Every taxi driver knows where [his] house is," Eckardt said.

Stats

Resting on a one-acre lot, the 3,500-square-foot artist’s retreat includes four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Amenities

Though it’s a truly artistic retreat, the home is still a decidedly upscale Montauk residence with a wide array of luxurious amenities. There’s a large gourmet kitchen, high-tech infrared sauna, heated pool, and a fully-equipped outdoor kitchen ideal for parties and get-togethers.

Neighborhood notes

The residence is just a stone’s throw from the edge of Fort Pond Bay. For Mr. Eckardt, a Montauk native, the area will always consequently be about "surfing, fishing and artists." However, for those in need of a bit more, there is also a variety of cultural, dining and shopping establishments.
