Listing of the Day
Location: Woodside, California
Price: $34.6 million
This contemporary California home comes with its very own vineyard of grafted, mature vines.
The estate’s prime Silicon Valley location, perched on the edge of the Santa Cruz mountains, lends the vineyard a genuine Santa Cruz Mountains Appellation.
The home itself, mostly at the ground level, is nestled into the landscape. It is on its third owner since being built in 2009, and its design has undergone some alterations over this time, according to listing agent Michael Dreyfus, with its original design being more rustic and "green."
It originally had a wooden roof, which has since been replaced by an elegant copper roof. Its design now balances sleek modernity with traditional warmth. Inside its high, wooden, exposed-beam ceilings lend it a barn-like scale and spaciousness.

Stats
This 8,826-square-foot home (the main home has 6,000 square feet) has six bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms, and sits on a 6.4-acre vineyard estate.
Amenities
Aside from its vineyard, the estate boasts a range of features, including what Mr. Dreyfus describes as an "epic treehouse"—a charming children’s play area attached to three redwoods on the grounds of the home.
As well as the main building, two additional buildings on the residence function as an entertainment pavilion and a guest house. The entertainment pavilion is currently set up as a "wellness center" which, according to Mr. Dreyfus, "feels very spa-like," with a gym and massage room, as well as a wine room with an imposing wood-burning fireplace.
Other amenities include a clay tennis court, an outdoor pool area, and a motor court capped by dual three-car garages. The security and electrical systems of the property have been upgraded in recent years, and the entire property—not just its critical systems—can now be run off-grid on a generator. Security-wise, it has 38 cameras and a license plate scanner, which automatically logs people that enter and exit, as well as an RFID tag reader for both the service and the main gate.

Neighborhood notes
Woodside, an unincorporated town in the Bay Area of San Mateo County, has just over 5,000 residents. It’s close to the mountains and redwood preserves of Santa Cruz, which dominate its western hills, with oaks and eucalyptus in the lower areas.
Woodside is home to a mix of Silicon Valley movers and shakers–CEOs and venture capitalists, as well as famous artists and musicians, with its rural lifestyle being enlivened by an artists’ colony and summer jazz at the beautiful Filoli Garden. Residents value its privacy, access to nature, large parcels of land and diverse architecture.
