Location: Freeport, Grand Bahama, Bahamas

Price: $14.9 million

Bordered by both the ocean and a canal at the westernmost tip of Grand Bahama, "Nandana" is a Balinese-inspired compound consisting of six separate living spaces that exemplify indoor-outdoor living in a relaxed island setting.

Meaning "Paradise" in Sanskrit, the residence’s name evokes the property’s scenic palm trees, tropical foliage and vast water frontage as much as it reflects its Asian-inspired architectural style.

"The whole house is set up for indoor-outdoor living," said George Damianos, president of Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty. In effect, the residence’s five bedrooms each occupy their own freestanding structures that open up to one another.

One room even occupies a 2,000-square-foot luxury safari tent complete with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and its own bathroom.

Noting the attention to detail throughout the property, Mr. Damianos said the current owners "painstakingly built" Nandana as their "dream home." In turn, the main house is a particularly imposing feat of craftsmanship that utilizes imported Burmese teak in subtly geometric walls and smooth floors throughout. The wood’s warm auburn sheen is contrasted with the cool tones of textured stone features and recessed lighting.

Outside, the living spaces center around a 112-foot-long infinity pool that looks out onto the cerulean ocean and palm tree dotted beach.

Stats

Resting on over two acres of land, the residence has five bedrooms and five bathrooms.

A sixth bedroom is possible by converting the residence’s office space.

Amenities

In addition to the infinity pool, the residence includes smart home technology, a five-car garage, private gym, Jacuzzi, 350-bottle wine room, and a one-bedroom staff apartment.

The vast water frontage, meanwhile, means the property has a "place for all your toys," said Mr. Damianos. In turn, the canal’s private dock allows room for a 115-foot-long yacht, jet skis, or several smaller boats.

Neighborhood Notes

The residence is located in West End, the Westernmost part of the city of Freeport on Grand Bahama. Just 60 miles from the coast of Florida, the house is also adjacent to a private airport that includes not only tarmac but also immigration and customs.

Overall, Mr. Damianos described the island lifestyle as very relaxed. "If you’re hyper and coming from New York, you need a few days to unwind. It’s very laid back," he said.
