After listing her Sherman Oaks five-bedroom for $1.945 million in July, "Game of Thrones" star Lena Headey sold the mid-century modern home this week for $2.05 million, listing records show.

Ms. Headey purchased the property in 2014 for $790,000, according to PropertyShark, and oversaw an extensive renovation of the space that likely helped her more than double her money on the sale.

The 2,900-square-foot, 1950s-era home is framed by drought-tolerant landscaping.

"The moment you walk through the gate and see the house you know you are entering something special," said listing agent Zoe Rudolph of John Aaroe Group. "There is a great feeling of warmth that envelops you as soon as you walk in the door."

In September 2016, the home was featured in Dwell with Ms. Headey recounting her hands-on remodeling of the space.

The project included highlighting exposed rafters, opening up the home to the backyard and reflooring by hand, using Kentucky tobacco farm wood to create a herringbone design. The design team constructed a partial second story to create additional space for her and her two children.

In a New York Times interview in July, Ms. Headey spoke about having recently relocating from Los Angeles to a 19th century Georgian home in Yorkshire, England, where she was raised.

Ms. Rudolph pointed out the home is perfectly suited for both entertainment and tranquility.

"It is a wonderful blend of modern comforts tied together with an organic sensibility," she said. "A place to enjoy a quiet moment on your own or entertain family and friends by the pool. All of these elements combined  are why this special home sold very quickly."

Ms. Headey’s representatives didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
