Fashion mogul Serge Azria is putting his stylish Manhattan penthouse at 443 Greenwich St. on the market for $17.3 million, making it the first penthouse resale in the star-studded building, Mansion Global has learned.
Mr. Azria, chief executive and creative director behind brands such as Joie, Equipment and Current/Elliot, and brother of Max Azria, founder and chief executive of fashion powerhouse BCBG Max Azria, will pocket a $3 million profit if the duplex penthouse sells at the full asking price.
He closed on the purchase via a limited liability company, which has links to two other properties in his real estate portfolio, for $14.3 million in February, after signing a presale contract in November 2015, property records show.
His rep didn’t immediately respond to requests for confirmation.
Serge Azria bought a $9.4-million penthouse at 60 White St. in Tribeca last year, according to the New York Post.
Listing agents Fredrik Eklund, John Gomes, Julia Spillman and Adam Widener of Douglas Elliman declined to identify or confirm the seller but pointed out that he bought the penthouse as an investment and never lived there.
"He saw huge potential in the building and in one of the best penthouses in New York," Mr. Widener told Mansion Global.
Spanning the top two floors in the book bindery-converted luxury condo, the duplex penthouse encompasses 3,417 square feet of living space and has a 1,100-square-foot outdoor terrace.
A keyed elevator lands on both floors of the apartment. On the main level, a custom-paneled foyer leads to the great room, dining room and a kitchen featuring wide-plank white oak floors. Six large windows take in natural light to the space.

The designated living wing includes three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.The master bedroom has two spacious walk-in closets, a master bathroom walled in Calcutta marble and a soaking tub with a hand-polished graphite/marble accent wall.
The two auxiliary bedrooms feature antiqued bronze hardware and fittings, both overlooking the building’s 4,000-square-feet landscaped courtyard.
Custom enhancements to the apartment also include a black steel structure wrapping around the vertical beams in the great room, automated privacy window blinds and polished concrete flooring in the glass atrium, which opens to a private rooftop terrace equipped with a kitchen, barbecue and ice maker and other entertainment necessities.
"It offers a rare opportunity for buyers who didn’t move quick enough to purchase in one of the premiere new developments in Manhattan," Mr. Widener said.
One of the selling points of this duplex penthouse is its large outdoor terrace, Ms. Spillman said. "A private outdoor terrace is rare in the general market place, let alone in a building everybody has their eye on," she said.

Thanks to the prime location, luxury amenities, privacy and security it offers, 443 Greenwich has attracted a slew of A-list celebrity buyers, including star couple Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, who bought one of the eight penthouses; One Direction singer Harry Styles; actor Jake Gyllenhaal; actress Jennifer Lawrence and Rebel Wilson, among others.
The final developer-sponsor penthouse, and the most expensive unit in the building, is currently on the market for $58 million. The developer, Metro Loft, raised the price to $58 million last month from $55 million in 2016. It was first listed for $51 million in 2014, when sales began.
Building amenities include a 24-hour doorman, a 24-hour concierge, valet and live-in resident manager, a 71-foot indoor swimming pool, children's playroom, a 5,000-square-foot landscaped roof terrace, a fitness center, private wellness studios, Hamam (Turkish bath) and a temperature- controlled wine cellar.
