Dick Clark’s longtime business partner, Ed Fishman, is selling his Malibu home for $19.995 million. Located on Escondido Beach Road, the modern house on more than one-third of an acre has lots of glass for beautiful ocean views along 80 feet of beach.
Mr. Fishman and Clark—the late "American Bandstand" and "New Year’s Rockin’ Eve" host—were partners in Access Records as well as Signature Entertainment, a talent management and booking company for casinos and corporate events. Fishman’s TV and film producer credits include game shows "The Diamond Head Game" and "Dealer’s Choice."

The house has 6,100 square feet of living space, with a two-story living room, dining room, an eat-in chef’s kitchen, five bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. Nearly the whole back of the house is glass, making the most of the ocean views.
The entry courtyard includes a koi pond and waterfall, but as Mr. Fishman explained in a phone interview, he could have rented out the front of the house for all the time the family spent there over the years, opting for beachside back of the home instead
Mr. Fishman said he first saw the "big pink house" when it was owned by Leonard Katzman, the late executive producer of primetime drama "Dallas," and just loved the place. Public records show Mr. Fishman bought the property from Mr. Katzman in 1994 for $3.4 million.
"It’s a little different living above the beach," Mr. Fishman explained, so when they bought this house and were living "right on the sand," they realized how much they loved the location and sold two other properties they’d owned in Malibu, a mile from the beach, within the year, he said.

The house has a media room that’s equipped with an overhead projector. The finished basement holds a wine cellar and a generator. An elevator services the garage and basement. That basement, Mr. Fishman said, "means no flooding and no waves" on the main floor.
The wine cellar has room for about 3,000 bottles, and the big bar in the main living room space has two refrigerators and place to store as many as 100 bottles, said Mr. Fishman, which served them well over the years. On the more practical side, he said the generator could light up the whole street, and worked like a dream around 10 years ago when they had a power outage.
"It's a fabulous house on a wide stretch of gorgeous sandy beach," said listing agent Ellen Francisco of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.
Mr. Fishman also owns the lot next door, which is empty save for a small 1,000-foot guest house. He’d be willing to sell that as well for $6.5 million. The two lots together would mean 130-feet of beachfront. And Mr. Fishman said there are no easements on the property, meaning that it’s completely private.
Now that his kids have moved out, the house has become "too big for two people," Mr. Fishman said. And so they are moving inland to a smaller place. Mr. Fishman said the house is ready for new owners who want to enjoy "quiet and privacy on a beautiful beach."
