The Aspen real estate market continues its strong performance. Eighty homes were sold in the Colorado city in the second quarter of this year, up 19.4% compared with the same period in 2014, according to a new report from real estate brokerage Douglas Elliman. “It’s the second highest quarterly total since the financial crisis began,” said Jonathan Miller, president and CEO of property appraisal and consulting firm Miller Samuel, who prepared the report. The record is 81 sales. The city’s luxury market is experiencing similar growth. Defined as the top 10% of home sales, a total of nine luxury residences were sold in the second quarter, up 28.6% from the previous year, according to the report. The average price per square foot increased 1.2% to $1,505.
