Perched on the entire top floor of a new boutique luxury building in the Flatiron District in Manhattan, this spacious penthouse comes with a direct elevator entrance and a nearly 1,000-square-foot master suite equipped with a private bedroom terrace and a kitchenette, perfect for enjoying nightlife in the city that never sleeps.

Known as Penthouse One, the unit is the largest of the four penthouses in the 13-residence building, 21W20, and the last one to come on the market.

"With nearly 4,900 square feet of beautifully proportioned living space on one level and 100 feet of frontage with floor-to-ceiling glass, this sun-filled home is distinctively inspired," said Stephen McArdle, senior director of Halstead Property Development Marketing, who is handling the sale with Rachel Glazer, a broker from Brown Harris Stevens.

This penthouse provides "a truly seamless integration of indoor/outdoor living space while maintaining a level of intimacy and privacy that is practically unheard of in Manhattan," Ms. Glazer added.

The landmarked building, featuring a glass, cast iron and stone façade, has nine two-bedroom, two-bathroom full-floor units and four penthouses altogether.

The Stats

The marble-floored foyer opens up to a living/dining room, which transitions into two separate seating areas: one featuring a custom millwork wall with a bio-fuel fireplace, the other connecting to the terrace.

The professional-grade kitchen is equipped with high-end appliances from Miele, Julien, and Grohe; white oak cabinetry and a custom 10.5-foot-long marble kitchen island. There is also a butler’s entry and a media room adjacent to the kitchen.

The penthouse has four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. The master suite is located in the west wing of the apartment. In addition to the kitchenette, the spacious master bedroom has seating areas and dual walk-in closets. The master bathroom features a freestanding LaCava bathtub, a walk-in shower and radiant floor heating.

Three additional bedroom suites each come with bathrooms and walk-in closets.

The Design Pedigree

Beyer Blinder Belle, a New York-based architecture firm recognized for restoring historical structures, was commissioned to restore the landmarked building by its developer, Gale International. Founded in the wake of the urban renewal movement in the United States more than four decades ago, the firm focuses on constructing harmonious relations between architectures, people and neighborhood streets.

The interior designer is David Mann of MR Architecture and Décor, who used neutral colors to create a contemporary feel. The living areas feature 6-inch solid rift white oak hardwood floor in square-patterned design. There are solid wood doors with polished black nickel hardware throughout the penthouse.

Amenities

Amenities in the building include a 24-hour doorman, an outdoor garden, refrigerated storage for grocery deliveries, bicycle storage and a pet washroom.
