Wherever George Clooney goes, Rande Gerber isn't far behind, at least according to headlines.

The Hollywood buds bought—then sold—matching villas in Mexico, went into the booze biz together with Casamigos tequila and are often seen jet-setting around the world, along with their accomplished wives in tow. Now, it seems the two might be neighbors again, this time in Manhattan's midtown east neighborhood.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Clooney and wife, Amal, snapped up an apartment in developer Aby Rosen's luxury condo building at 100 East 53rd St., and according to the New York Post, entrepreneur Gerber and supermodel Cindy Crawford got an identical pad, one floor above.

Despite the somewhat lackluster location—at least compared to more typical celebrity magnets like Tribeca and the West Village—the high-rise is definitely suited for celebs thanks to amenities like a 60-foot sunlit swimming pool, sauna steam room and spa, as well as a gourmet market and fine-dining restaurant by acclaimed chef Joël Robuchon.

The Post reported that the building—set for completion in 2017—was chosen by the Clooneys for its proximity to the United Nations (Amal's a human right lawyer) and that Casamigos is looking to expand its presence to New York.

In 2015, Mr. Gerber and Ms. Crawford sold their Malibu estate for $13.341 million, and—along with Mr. Clooney—unloaded their twin Mexican mansions for a reported combined price of $100 million.

Reps for Ms. Crawford and Compass, which is handing the building's sales, didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.
