‘Idol’ Co-Creator Simon Fuller Sells $14.6M Beverly Hills Mansion

Simon Fuller, the producer and entrepreneur (and other Simon) who brought the "Idol" TV singing competition to the world, has sold his Beverly Hills mansion for $14.6 million.

According to the listing, the asking price for the home, at 1020 Ridgedale Drive, was $15.9 million.

The traditional English-style house was built in 1925, and was renovated during Mr. Fuller’s ownership, according to The Los Angeles Times. The home, which stands on a 38,000-square-foot lot with 8,000 square feet of interior space, according to the listing, is situated behind walls and gates. It features a floating staircase, a gourmet kitchen and five bedroom suites, eight bathrooms, a movie and TV screening room, wine cellar, gym, detached guest house and a rectangular swimming pool.

Records show that the British-born Mr. Fuller, 56, who also co-created "So You Think You Can Dance" and was a manager for the Spice Girls, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson, paid $8.5 million for the property in 2005. And according to The Daily Mail, he unsuccessfully tried to sell the house for $21.5 million in 2014 and just under $20 million in 2015.

Representatives from Hilton & Hyland, who sold the home, did not immediately respond to request for comment.
