Elizabeth Ross "Libet" Johnson, an heiress whose family founded health care company Johnson & Johnson, is listing her large Millbrook, N.Y. horse farm for $28.5 million.
If it sells for its asking price, the property would set a record for Millbrook, said Marina T. Schindler of Compass, one of the listing agents. The highest-priced home sale to date in the village, which is about 90 miles north of New York City, was a $18.375 million transaction in 2011, according to the Mid-Hudson Multiple Listing Service.
Known as Lightning Tree Farm, the property contains a nine-bedroom Greek Revival mansion built around 1850 and four guesthouses, plus extensive equestrian facilities, including an 18-stall stable, a riding ring and paddocks. Over 600 acres, the property also has its own helipad, one of only a few at private homes in Dutchess County, Ms. Schindler said.

Measuring about 18,000 square feet, the renovated main house has a ballroom, an elevator and a movie theater. In the childrens’ playroom, a stage has curtains that open and close. A kitchen and changing area flank the swimming pool.
Ms. Johnson bought the house around 1980 and later purchased adjacent parcels to bring the farm to its current size. A spokesperson for the Johnson family said they are selling because Ms. Johnson’s children have homes elsewhere and no longer spend time in the area. The family will keep a working farm they own nearby, the spokesperson said.
The Millbrook listing is a co-exclusive with H.W. Guernsey Realtors.
