A three-bedroom residence at The Plaza Hotel, once occupied by Iranian-Israeli fashion designer Elie Tahari, is now on the market with an asking price of $13.85 million.

Elie Tahari has other residences in New York, but used Apartment 1707 in The Plaza Hotel as a part-time rental, sources familiar with the property said.

Located at one of the world’s most prestigious addresses, 1 Central Park South, the apartment has 2,975 square feet of living space, including three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms.

Each of the three bedrooms has a full en-suite bathroom with classic mosaic tiles fashioned after the historic Plaza lobbies. The master bedroom suite is separate from the other two bedrooms, offering plenty of privacy and closet space.

The kitchen is well appointed with Viking and Miele appliances, white Calacatta mosaic marble backsplashes and Nero Marquina stone countertops.

The apartment has full Central Park views, complemented by furnishings by Fendi Casa, said listing agent Bernice Leventhal of the Corcoran Group.

Additionally, interested buyers can also purchase the 1,400-square-foot one-bedroom unit directly above it, to make a more spacious duplex, said Ms. Leventhal. The one-bedroom apartment is rented out currently and is not officially listed yet.

Amenities in The Plaza Hotel, a National Historic Landmark built in 1907 by Henry J. Hardenbergh, include concierge services, a 24-hour doorman, Warren-Tricomi Salon, Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa, La Palestra Fitness Center, The Rose Club and The Grand Ballroom. It has 150 hotel suites and 182 private residencies, according to StreetEasy.

Sarah Thompson from Corcoran is a co-listing broker.
