This 59th-floor property in the Emirates Crown has been renovated by Marie Laurent Architecture, an award-winning French firm based in Dubai. Ms. Laurent was taken by the abundance of natural light and the possibilities presented by the open space.

"This was a perfect property to renovate, as it had so much unexploited architectural potential," she says. "This could be the ultimate bachelor pad, the perfect young family open plan house, or the ideal holiday home."

With its high ceilings, windows and no shortage of light, it is the perfect place for an art-lover, too.

The half-floor residence has 270 degrees of uninterrupted view over the iconic Palm Island, overlooking both the skyline of the marina and the desert horizon.

"The initial concept was to open the space to its maximum, giving it an endless discovery as you enter the apartment," Laurent says. "The wow factor of the Palm Island view just continues as you walk through the penthouse."

She chose to take a minimalist approach and maximize on the space with higher ceilings and windows to make the most of the daylight (and night light-views) and bring the outside in.

The Stats

This four-bedroom property has two full bathrooms and one partial bathroom in an open concept 7,682-square-foot space.

Design Pedigree

For the past few years, Ms. Laurent has specialized in penthouses, with recent work in several units in the same building—a landmark of the Dubai Marina— as well as prime neighboring buildings like Cayan, JBR, and Capricorn Towers.

Amenities

The property features access to the building’s landscaped gardens, a barbecue area, squash court, swimming pool, steam and sauna rooms, gym, and 24-hour security, as well as a state of the art walk-in glass wine cellar in the kitchen. All main doors revolve on hinges, with no handles, and begin at 10 feet tall. There is a separate maid’s room and driver’s room, both on the same floor, with a discreet door connecting them directly to the penthouse.
