"Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James may find inspiration for her next book in the city lights of Downtown Los Angeles, and the waves of the Pacific Ocean.

The urban and water views come with the five-bedroom home the British writer has just bought for $7.25 million in the celebrity-laden neighborhood of Hollywood Hills, according to Trulia.

The new construction sits atop the highest ridge overlooking the city, conferring views of the ocean and islands beyond, according to the listing.

Ms. James, whose real name is Erika Mitchell, will be able to enjoy the endless views from any room, including a master suite that has an outdoor terrace and a master bathroom with a tub facing a floor-to-ceiling window.

The house is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a kitchen with lacquered wood cabinetry and Miele appliances and a media/lounge featuring surround sound, a wet bar, a fireplace and a walk-in wine room, according to the listing. There is also a three-car garage and an elevator.

Outdoors, "one of Sunset Strip’s largest pools floats in midair," according to the listing description.
