Six-time PGA champion Jeff Sluman and his wife, Dr. Linda Sluman, have put their Hinsdale, Illinois, home on the market for $4.35 million.

After owning two houses that felt "too big," the couple opted to build a smaller home. "We knew we wanted to make this one cozier," Dr. Sluman, a physician, told Mansion Global. Completed in 2006, the two-story house has five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and three partial baths.

The property, situated roughly 18 miles west of downtown Chicago, offers a finished basement that includes a home theater, a trophy room, a wine cellar, a bowling alley and a rec room where the family keeps a pinball machine and arcade games.

The Slumans recently turned the porch into a four-season room—equipped with ceiling fans, retractable screens, and tumbled tile flooring—for year-round enjoyment. Upstairs, a balcony off the gym overlooks the English-style gardens.

The couple enlisted Dr. Sluman’s sister, interior architect Cheryl Tague of Bronxville, N.Y.-based Core Home, to design the interiors. Ms. Tague, who lived in England for several years, drew inspiration from her travels in Europe.

For instance, she sourced many of the furnishings abroad, including a 150-year-old chandelier with rock crystals that hangs in the dining room. In the master suite, which has its own sauna, a Carrara marble tub was once part of a water basin found in a Roman square. "There’s so many one-of-a-kind things in there," Dr. Sluman said of the home.

The couple, who lives there now with their college-bound daughter, is selling the home because they are building a new house in South Florida. After finding a lot in Delray Beach, the Slumans put the Hinsdale home on the market in December of 2015 for $4.75 million. They briefly removed it from the market, before listing it with a new brokerage in July. Ginny Stewart of Village Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing.

"I love that house," Dr. Sluman said. "We’ve had nothing but great memories there."
