A central London home suitable for any Beatles fans has been put on the market with a £3.5 million ($4.6 million) price tag.

The 1,301-square-foot, three-bedroom lateral apartment is located in Knightsbridge’s Whaddon House, the same building where George Harrison and Ringo Starr once lived, and is close to Harrods department store and the Mandarin Oriental hotel.

The two Beatles occupied Flats 5 and 6 from 1964-1965. They took the apartments at the suggestion of their manager, Brian Epstein—affectionately known as the Fifth Beatle—who lived on the top floor from late 1963 to 1965. He recommended the building as suitable residence for George and Ringo because of its prime location, according to Harrods Estates, the listing agent.

During his time there, Epstein hosted a number of glamorous “at home” parties, including a showbiz gathering in August 1964 that was attended by all four Beatles, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Judy Garland, among others.

Whaddon House on Williams Mews was also where the famous foursome met to have afternoon tea before traveling to Buckingham Palace to be knighted by the Queen in 1965.

“Upon entering the quiet and inviting William Mews, you can easily forget how close you are to the main streets of Knightsbridge, where the likes of Harrods and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel can be found,” said Shaun Drummond, sales director of Harrods Estates.

“I suspect that Brian Epstein didn’t have to do much convincing when he recommended the building to Ringo and George as their London residence.”
