After spending years fixing up his Montana ranch, investor Robert Burch is seeking greener pastures, listing his roughly 30,000-acre spread for $35 million. “It’s been a really fun project,” Mr. Burch said of his Hobble Diamond Ranch, but “unfortunately, there’s nothing left to do.” Mr. Burch, who lives primarily in Philadelphia, said he will look for another ranch that needs work and can accommodate more cattle than the roughly 1,000 Hobble Diamond runs.

The ranch is located halfway between Bozeman and Billings on the Yellowstone River. Mr. Burch said he bought the first 9,000 acres in 1998 and acquired adjacent properties as they became available. He refurbished ranch buildings and built new ones, including a six-bedroom, timber-and-stone house of about 10,000 square feet. The home’s lower level has a sauna, massage room, billiard room and wine cellar with a tasting room.

The property, with about 6 miles of frontage on the Yellowstone River, also includes guest houses, staff houses, a horse barn, corrals and other ranch facilities, says listing agent Joel Leadbetter of Hall and Hall.

Mr. Burch, 62, co-founded clothing company Eagle’s Eye with his brother J. Christopher Burch. The brothers sold 70% of the company for about $60 million in the late 1980s, and the rest of the company a decade later. J. Christopher Burch went on to launch Tory Burch with his then-wife.
