It is a home fit for a rock star. Russ Weiner, the youthful creator of Rockstar Energy Drink, paid $20 million in cash for a lavish Miami Beach property, according to his real-estate agent, Brett Harris of Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
The roughly 9,500-square-foot, seven-bedroom house sits on over an acre with a private dock on Biscayne Bay, a swimming pool and a gym, according to Mr. Harris. The home comes with an elevator, a wine cellar and a rooftop terrace. Near the swimming pool, there is a cabana and a covered outdoor kitchen.
Mr. Weiner liked that the property, which has about 160 feet of bay frontage, is one of the largest available lots on North Bay Road, Mr. Harris said. While he has an oceanfront home in Delray Beach, Mr. Weiner had been looking at homes in Miami for several years, Mr. Harris said.
“We’ve been circling this property,” Mr. Harris added. When it returned to the market at a reduced $24.9 million with David Hunt Solomon of EWM Realty International, he said, they made an offer. The home originally listed for $29.5 million in late 2013 with another firm.
The sellers were Jared and Michelle Goldberg, according to public records. Mr. Harris said the Goldbergs had the home builtaround 2013, and are selling because they decided to move. Mr. Goldberg declined to comment.
Mr. Weiner, 46, launched Rockstar in the early 2000s. The energy drink found success with a 16-ounce can that helped set it apart from Red Bull’s 8-ounce container. Mr. Weiner couldn’t be immediately reached for comment.
