Even with a recent price cut, Tamara Mellon hasn’t found a buyer

Despite undoubtedly having a shoe closet large enough to house a Carrie Bradshaw-esque collection of footwear, Jimmy Choo co-founder Tamara Mellon has been unable to sell her Upper East Side penthouse.

The former British Vogue accessories editor, who set up the famous shoe company with designer Jimmy Choo in 1996, first put the property on the market around two years ago for $34 million.

However, after a price cut to $27 million failed to entice buyers to open their wallets, the British businesswoman, who once dated actor Christian Slater, has put the five-bedroom duplex up for rent -- and it will only set you back $60,000 a month.

The 7,000-square-foot penthouse with an impressive roof terrace is on the top of The Grand Carhart building at 3 East 95th St., which dates back to 1913 and was previously owned by Seagram heir Charles Bronfman Jr. The property is being marketed by Corcoran Group.
