While the shock Brexit vote has dominated all the headlines over the weekend, the annual Wimbledon tennis tournament, which begins Monday, may take back a few column inches.
The two-week long tournament, the oldest in the world, has been held in the south London neighborhood since 1877 and with hundreds of thousands of tennis fans descending on the town, it has done wonders for tourism.
And when it comes to the tennis grand slam through the lens of real estate, Wimbledon is also a winner. According to Knight Frank, the global real estate consultancy, house prices in Wimbledon have performed better over the last five years than in the three other grand slam locations -- Melbourne, Paris and New York.
