The Montecito, Calif. estate of the late Philadelphia Flyers owner Ed Snider is seeking $52 million, according to listing agents Susan Burns from Coldwell Banker Previews International and Jason Siemens of Sotheby’s International Realty.

The Italian-inspired home sits on roughly 9.4 landscaped acres with views of the ocean and surrounding mountains, Ms. Burns said. The main house, constructed by Mr. Snider around 2001, has eight bedrooms and measures about 21,300 square feet. The property also includes a swimming pool with a one-bedroom cabana, a tennis court and pavilion with a wet bar, half bath and rooftop viewing deck, and a two-bedroom guesthouse.

Mr. Snider died in April at age 83; the house is being sold by his estate. He lived primarily in the Philadelphia area, but traveled frequently to Montecito and often entertained friends and family at the home, said Ms. Burns, who knew him personally. She said he often hosted friends to watch sporting events, including Flyers games, in the home’s lower level family room, which has a bar, two flat screen televisions and a home theater that seats about 20.

Mr. Snider purchased the property in 1994, and then later added additional parcels for gardens, privacy and views, Ms. Burns said. After living for a few years in a pre-existing home, he demolished the house and started over, she said.

Mr. Snider owned the Flyers for 50 years, and built a television and arena-management empire around the hockey team.
