A Los Angeles estate that counts Hollywood stars Cher and Eddie Murphy among its previous owners is going on the market for $85 million.

The gated estate in the Beverly Hills Post Office area measures about 16 acres, according to listing agent Aaron Kirman of John Aaroe Group. The roughly 20,000-square-foot main home on the property is partially renovated, Mr. Kirman said, and a new owner would need to complete it before moving in. The grounds also include a four-bedroom Moroccan-themed guest house, an equestrian barn, two riding rings, a swimming pool and a tennis court.

According to public records, the house was owned in the 1980s by Cher, who sold it in 1988 to Mr. Murphy. The comedian sold the estate in 1995. The late real estate developer Raul Walters and his wife Vicki bought the property from another owner in the 1990s.

After the Walterses bought the property, they acquired three surrounding parcels and built the guest house, tennis court and equestrian facilities as well as a number of hiking and riding trails, Mr. Kirman said. While living in the guest house, they started an extensive renovation of the main house but had not completed the project when Mr. Walters died in 2009. Ms. Walters opted not to finish construction, Mr. Kirman said, so a new owner would need to build out the kitchens, bathrooms and finishes.

Ms. Walters is selling because she has moved out and now has another property in the area, Mr. Kirman said. She could not be reached for comment.
