The kitchens in Manhattan’s luxury apartments have nearly doubled in size in the past six years — some good news for culinary aficionados, aspiring chefs and Anthony Bourdain devotees.

In today’s new developments, kitchens comprise an average of 12% of the square footage of the apartment — versus just 7% of those in buildings constructed between 2000 and 2010, according to new research from real estate-brokerage Engel & Völkers.

To be sure, developers are now building bigger residences, but the kitchen is “taking up a much more substantial portion of each unit,” says research analyst Corey Dyer.

For those who aspire to culinary greatness, here’s a look at five new developments with seriously epic kitchens.

On the Market in Manhattan

11 Beach Street

Named after its TriBeCa address, this 10-story loft building, originally built in 1910, is being converted into 27 homes with interiors by Thomas Juul-Hansen — whose pedigree includes restaurants for chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The kitchens will feature marble countertops and stained-and-cerused oak cabinetry, as well as a double-burner Teppanyaki, a built-in Wok burner and Sub-Zero wine storage.

This 31-story condominium on the Upper East Side is the vision of interior designer Paris Forino. Each of its 156 residences will boast light-filled kitchens with Miele appliances and custom Italian cabinetry in a lacquer finish. Some of the kitchens will include white marble islands with room for bar stools — perfect for those who view the kitchen as an extension of their living space.

When finished, this 777-foot glass tower will be the tallest residential building between Manhattan’s Midtown and Downtown neighborhoods, providing residents with sweeping views in all directions. In the penthouse, these views extend to the kitchen, where a wall of glass looks down on the city below.

This full-floor residence at the condominium 152 Elizabeth Street will include a spacious kitchen measuring roughly 22 x 20 feet — with a south-facing loggia to boot. The kitchen will have eucalyptus wood cabinets, Honed Fango marble countertops, a custom-designed cutlery drawer and appliances by Gaggenau.

1110 Park Avenue

Each gourmet kitchen is custom-created by the acclaimed kitchen designer Christopher Peacock, featuring hand-painted custom cabinetry and Statuario Piccola marble countertops, as well as appliances by Gaggenau and Wolf.
