The Los Angeles home of the late Michael King is listing for $42 million. Mr. King and his brother Roger became larger-than-life figures in television as they built their family’s company, King World Productions, into a syndication powerhouse before selling it to CBS in 1999 for $2.5 billion in CBS stock. In Pacific Palisades, the white-painted brick Georgian measures roughly 15,600 square feet and has seven bedrooms, according to listing agent David Offer of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. According to Mr. King’s widow, Jena, the ivy-covered home has mahogany floors, and the dining room walls are inlaid with mother of pearl. There’s also a roughly 600-square-foot home theater that “was our hangout,” she said. The property has a swimming pool plus an infinity-edge hot tub and a pool house. The house has various outdoor entertaining spaces, including a covered loggia with an outdoor fireplace. The Kings bought the property in 2002 for $11 million, according to public records. Ms. King said they demolished the existing house and completed the new home in 2005. Mr. King died in May of 2015 at age 67. Ms. King said she’s selling because she wants to simplify in the wake of his death. Also in Pacific Palisades, a newly built estate on the site of Ronald Reagan’s longtime home is listed for $33 million. Write to Candace Taylor at Candace.Taylor@wsj.com
