The California ranch once known as Neverland that belonged to the late King of Pop Michael Jackson hit the market for $100 million last week, making it one of the most expensive properties for sale in the country. The nine-figure asking price is becoming increasingly popular in the ultra-high-end real estate market. More properties than ever before were sold for $100 million or more last year, according to a report from Christie’s International Real Estate, which prompted the brokerage to call the price “the new billionaire benchmark for ‘trophy’ homes.” Of the five estates that were sold around the world, three were in the U.S. Here’s a look at some of the highest-priced homes currently on the market.
