This modern marvel has come a long way since construction began in 2013. Mansion Global first toured the property in July, and we now have the first look at the finished product.

The house belongs to Christian de Berdouare, owner of the restaurant franchise Chicken Kitchen. The newly built residence is the latest addition to his collection of homes on North Bay Road, which includes a mansion once owned by the Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.

“I’m not an architect. I’m not an interior designer. And I’m not a furniture designer,” de Berdouare said proudly. “But I pretty much designed this entire house.”

In addition to its marble-rich interiors and glamorous custom furnishings, the property boasts a rooftop swimming pool with sunset views over Biscayne Bay.

The Exterior

The more than 17,000-square-foot house has seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are located in the guest quarters.

The INTERIORS

In the center of the house, de Berdouare built a glass atrium that features a vertical garden with a waterfall. The surrounding glass walls open to the living areas. There’s also a fitness center and a screening room. One of the home’s two kitchens is shown below.

The living room faces Biscayne Bay. The property includes more than 100 feet of waterfront, equipped with a private dock. The backyard features a gazebo with a barbecue station and a sunken dining area that overlooks the swimming pool.

The home boasts custom Italian furnishings, which will be included in the sale.

The Master Suite

Upstairs, the master bedroom opens to a balcony with views of the bay. A tub in the bathroom is carved from a nine-foot-long block of statuario marble that was imported from Italy. It weighs roughly 6,000 pounds.

The Rooftop

The rooftop features a four-foot-deep swimming pool. De Berdouare acquired a permit to build the terrace before the city’s planning department implemented new zoning codes that limit rooftop construction. As a result, the house is the first and only single-family home in Miami with a pool on its roof, he said.

“The thing that I love most about the house is that you get amazing sunsets every single day,” de Berdouare said.

The home is even getting attention from celebrities. Recently, rising hip-hop star Future shot a music video here.

“He said, ‘As soon as I make enough money, I’m buying this house,’” de Berdouare joked. Those contemplating making an offer may face some stiff competition.
