An almost 200-year-old house in the Hamptons has just chopped nearly $1 million from its asking price after just three months on the market.
Built in 1820, the home on First Neck Lane in Southampton Village, New York, was first listed in May for $10.9 million. It’s now asking $9.95 million.

The 5,800-square-foot, 19th-century estate has six bedrooms and combines classic features like the fireplaces and woodwork, with modern amenities like a chef’s kitchen and marble bathrooms.
The home also has a formal dining room, a library, an office, terraces and a heated pool. Plus there’s a carriage house, a pool house and a two-car garage.
Should any future owners wish to extend the home, there are existing plans to add 3,000 square feet, and to finish the lower level with two bedrooms, a gym and a media room.

Nearby in the affluent seaside enclave, Fordune, a lavish European-style estate built by Henry Ford II—grandson of the famed automaker—has just hit the market for $175 million. It’s now the most expensive home on the market in New York and one of the priciest on the East Coast.
