The penthouse at midtown Manhattan condo project 100 East 53rd Street will list for $65 million. The duplex penthouse, on the 60th and 61st floors of the building, will measure about 6,760 square feet, said Leonard Steinberg of Compass, one of the real-estate agents listing the penthouse. With views stretching to Central Park and the East River, the unit will have four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a powder room, he said. The penthouse will also have a 44-foot long great room and a gallery with ceilings about 23 feet high intended to display large artwork.

Sales at the 94-unit building launched last week, said Aby Rosen, the high-profile New York developer whose RFR Holding is partnering on the project with real-estate firm Hines and China Vanke, the world’s largest home builder by sales. The building is slated for completion in the spring of 2017. Designed by the British firm Foster + Partners, the building will have a 711-foot-high angled wall “to give the facade a little depth,” Mr. Rosen said. It will be light in color, in contrast with the dark facade of the nearby Seagram Building, which is owned by RFR. Also in homage to the Seagram Building, 100 East 53rd Street has a modernist look. Building amenities include a library, a swimming pool, a gym, a yoga room and spa treatment rooms. Mr. Rosen, 55, said response to the project has been strong, though he declined to say how many units are in contract so far. When asked how the softening high-end real-estate market could impact the sale of the penthouse, he said. “I think the high-end is still really strong if you build great quality.” Classic Marketing is also listing the property.
