After years on and off the market, and several price cuts, the Napa Valley estate of the late comedian Robin Williams has sold for $18.1 million, according to co-listing agent Joyce Rey of Coldwell Banker Previews International. Mr. Williams built the house, located in the Mayacamas Mountains, in the early 2000s. The estate originally went on the market in 2012 for $35 million with Sotheby’s International Realty, then was relisted in April of 2014 at $29.9 million with Ms. Rey and Ms. Greer. Mr. Williams committed suicide in August of 2014 at age 63. After his death it saw several more price cuts, and was last listed at $22.9 million. Mr. William’s estate couldn't be reached for comment.

The buyers of the roughly 650-acre estate are French winemakers Alfred and Melanie Tesseron of Château Pontet-Canet, according to William Densberger of Pacific Union, who represented the buyers with colleague Rob Landsness. The Tesserons plan to make wine from the property’s 18.4 acres of vineyards, but it’s not clear if they’ll build a winery there, Mr. Densberger said. Wine from the property’s vineyards is currently made off-site by local growers. The Tesserons couldn’t be reached for comment. Topped with a blue tile roof, the Mediterranean-style house measures about 20,000 square feet with five bedrooms, six full and five half baths. Outside, a 65-foot infinity-edge swimming pool overlooks the surrounding hills. On the grounds there is a tennis court, a horse barn, hiking and horse-riding trails, a fishing pond and a guesthouse. Ms. Rey said the sale is one of the highest prices ever paid for a Napa Valley home without a winery. The listing agents were Ms. Rey and Cyd Greer of Coldwell Banker Previews International.
