A circular swimming pool is the focal point of this Arizona home

Location: Scottsdale, A.Z.

Price: $5.5 million Nestled among boulders in the Sonoran Desert, this modern home, designed by architect Eddie Jones and built in 2001, resembles a scorpion. With curved walls made of poured concrete, the house is anchored by a saucer-shaped swimming pool. “If you stand anywhere in the house, everything lines up with the middle of that pool,” said listing agent Jay Pennypacker of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty. Sunlight pours through glass walls in the great room, spilling onto the limestone floors. The 4,792-square-foot residence has four bedrooms; two are located in the guesthouse, which is linked to the main residence by a covered bridge. The bridge creates the scorpion’s body while the guesthouse forms its tail. Agents: Jay Pennypacker and Debbie Negrin of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty View the full listing.
