The former Malibu property of actress Sally Field—which has since gained a 20-foot-tall, 15-person teepee in its yard—is listing for $7.9 million. The roughly 3-acre property has a four-bedroom main house measuring about 6,000 square feet, plus horse stalls and riding facilities, according to Madison Hildebrand of Partners Trust Malibu, who is listing the property with colleague Jennifer Chrisman. There is also a guesthouse, a heated saltwater swimming pool and a tennis court.

Jennifer Jones, an organizational psychologist, and her husband Mike Jones, a former CEO of Myspace, bought the house from Ms. Field in 2011 for $5.51 million.

Jennifer Jones, an organizational psychologist, and her husband Mike Jones, a former CEO of Myspace, bought the house from Ms. Field in 2011 for $5.51 million. According to public records, the property was also previously owned by actress Olivia Newton-John.

Ms. Jones said after the contract had been signed, they were worried that Ms. Field would change her mind, so they sent her a letter saying they were hoping to provide a “nature-based childhood” for their children and “how grateful we would be” if she sold it to them. In response she left them a nice note and gifts for the children when they moved in, Ms. Jones said. The Joneses renovated the property, painting the house white and redoing the deck, Ms. Jones said. They also added a greenhouse and a fountain, and created an open-air party barn with a chandelier. They built the teepee for her two children, who use it for camping out, playdates and parties; Ms. Jones said that the property serves as “a little mini nature amusement park” for the kids. The family is selling because they’re planning to buy a house on the beach, she said.
