Location: New York

Price: $12.5 million Nestled in Manhattan’s West Village, this Greek Revival-style townhouse belongs to a filmmaker who purchased it in 2012. The filmmaker hired architect M.N. Ahari to renovate the home, which is roughly 100 years old. The renovation combined the owner's taste for hotel style with his penchant for Hollywood history. “You walk into an entry foyer that feels very much like a boutique hotel,” said listing agent Jeremy V. Stein of Sotheby’s International Realty. The interiors were designed by Fernando Santangelo, who has been involved in a number of hotel projects, including the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles and the Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach. The rooms are dressed in rich colors and textures, with occasional cinematic references. “There’s a falcon that’s backlit,” said Stein. “You immediately think of the Maltese Falcon with Humphrey Bogart.” The townhouse has three bedrooms, including a fourth-floor studio that can be converted into a master suite, and 3½ bathrooms. The home’s most striking feature could be its two-story living room, which opens to a garden clad in marble floors. Agent: Jeremy V.
