Location:  Jalisco, Mexico

Price: $6.95 million Situated about five miles south of Puerto Vallarta, in the gated community of El Paredón, this cliffside home overlooks the emerald waters of Banderas Bay. The three-story house, Casa Papelillos, is named after the local papelillo trees. Some of the trees are a thousand years old, so architect Ricardo Elias chose to incorporate them into the home’s design. “They tried to preserve the nature that was there before the house was built,” said listing agent Graciela Zamudio Conde of Guadalajara Sotheby’s International Realty. Tree trunks poke through the terraces; some tower above the third floor. With nearly 17,600 square feet of living space, the house has five bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and one partial bathroom. The open-air living areas have views of the bay. The pool terrace, which features a palapa, is steps away from the beach. “El Paredón has its own private beach club with a very nice pool and a bar,” said Zamudio Conde. The beach club is within walking distance of the house. Agent: Graciela Zamudio Conde, Guadalajara Sotheby’s International Realty View the full listing.
