A Malibu home designed by architect Frank Gehry and owned by actor Patrick Dempsey and his wife, Jillian, is going on the market for $14.5 million, according to people familiar with the listing. The house, completed in 1972, was built for abstract painter Ron Davis, according to architectural publications. It has corrugated metal siding; large, asymmetrical picture windows and Mr. Gehry’s trademark jutting angles. Mr. Gehry is perhaps best known for his design of Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. The home is 5,500 square feet and sits on 3.3 acres, on grounds that include a pool, raised garden beds, an outdoor kitchen, large lawn and enclosures for the Dempseys’ collection of farm animals, including goats, rabbits, chickens and pigs. The property is a co-listing between Brett Lawyer of Hilton & Hyland and Chris Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker, according to people familiar with the listing. The couple bought the house for $7 million in 2009, according to public records. In January, Ms. Dempsey, a makeup artist, filed for divorce after 15 years of marriage. The couple has three children. Mr. Dempsey recently left the cast of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” television series. The actor couldn’t be reached for comment. Ms. Dempsey’s spokeswoman declined to comment.
