Location: Sydney

Price: Scheduled for auction with a suggested bid of A$6.5 million ($4.62 million). This contemporary house is nestled in the heart of Sydney’s eastern suburbs. “Every time you enter the property, it feels like you are being transported to a mix of Los Angeles and Bali,” the home’s owner Gabrielle Hughes said in an email. “It is definitely not your regular Sydney home.” The architect Bruce Stafford designed the house. Sliding glass walls in the living areas open to a courtyard framed with gardens and natural rock. The terrace has a swimming pool, a spa and a barbecue area. Hughes designed a vibrant mural that is displayed on a wall above the pool. "The inspiration behind the artistic mural in the courtyard came from the different lines, shapes and angles that are presented throughout the home,” said Hughes. “I wanted to play with the different aspects and create something abstract." The house has five bedrooms and four full bathrooms. The master suite is located in a pavilion that was built on top of a rock. It includes a master bathroom with double rain showers, in addition to a ‘secret’ bathtub that is hidden outside. Hughes is selling the home because she would like to downsize. The property is scheduled for auction on Nov. 23. Agent: Michael Pallier, Sydney Sotheby's International Realty View the full listing. Write to Gina Faridniya at gina.faridniya@dowjones.com
