Fancy a Greek island getaway? What about your own compound? If so, then consider this listing on the island of Santorini: A buyer can snap up eight villas and two restaurants in the village of Megalochori. An additional villa (called Santorini Cliff House) is part of the listing but is about a 10-minute drive away in the village of Imerovigli. All this for an asking price of 12 million euros, or about $12.8 million. Panagiotis Farmakis, with Greece Sotheby's International Realty, is the listing agent for what’s being marketed as a “village.” The villas are currently available to rent at a nightly rate of €150 to €1,500. If owning 11 properties in Greece seems like too much, some of them are available for sale individually at prices ranging from €500,000 to €1.5 million, or about $532,000 to $1.6 million. Have a look around.
The villas date back more than 100 years. The developer and owner said the villas are designed to blend in with the island’s architecture. There are annual renovations to modernize amenities and equipment.
Farmakis said the new owner may hire someone to manage the properties.
One of the villas, Santorini Stone House, features exterior walls decorated with volcanic rock. The house is 2,680 square feet, with a pool area, a terrace with a sea view, and a backyard dotted with trees. Santorini Stone House can be purchased individually for €1.5 million.
The island of Santorini, located in the Aegean Sea, is a 40-minute flight from Athens. View the full listing
