A slate-roofed Victorian residence in Camberwell, Australia, a suburb just a few miles east of downtown Melbourne, has come onto the market for A$11 million to A$12.3 million (US$8.7 million to US$9.7 million).

The house will be open for inspection Aug. 26 with its auction scheduled for Sept. 14.

Built circa 1883, the house was renovated in 2002 and won a national award for Best Renovation. It was remodeled again between 2014 and 2015, according to Andrew Gibbons of Marshall White, who co-listed the property with colleague Hamish Tostevin earlier this week.

"It has been faithfully renovated and extended to preserve its traditional period features throughout, whilst the interior also delivers luxurious living spaces geared to today's contemporary family lifestyles," Mr. Gibbons said.

Situated on 2,966 square meters (about 0.73 acres) on Waterloo Street, the house has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, sitting and dining rooms, a family room, a study and a home cinema, according to the listing.

Marble walls, floors and countertops are featured throughout. The kitchen, equipped with Miele and Asko appliances, connects to a butler’s pantry and an al fresco courtyard, a bar and a gym with bathroom.

In addition, there is a gas-and-solar-heated pool, a fully equipped pool house, a night-lit tennis court and a barbecue pavilion.

If the home sells within the price guidance, it will set a record as the first eight-figure home sale for Camberwell, where the median home price is A$2.1 million (US$1.67 million), according to realestate.com.au.

In 2015, another century-old home on Kintore St. sold for A$7.7 million, (US$6.1 million), which surpassed a A$6.8-million sale in 2014 to become the most expensive home in the area, according to published reports.
