Location: Miami

Price: $9.995 million Owners Dora and David Topp built this house around a banyan tree that envelopes the home’s second-floor balcony. Known as Villa Dwora, the 1-acre estate in the Ponce-Davis neighborhood was named after Dora Topp, whose mother pronounced her name “Dwora,” according to one of the property's listing agents, Barbara Haley of One Sotheby’s International Realty. The home, completed in 2010, was designed by Sotolongo Salman Henderson Architects of Miami. Its features include marble floors, an elevator and a three-car garage. The 10,730-square-foot home has eight bedrooms, nine full bathrooms and three half bathrooms. The master suite, situated on the second floor, has a gym with a separate entrance. The property also features a pool, a two-story pool house and a koi pond. “The grounds have a magical, lush resort feel,” Haley said. “But the tree—the tree is astonishing.” Originally listed at $11.5 million in August 2014, the price was reduced to $9.995 million a month ago.
