Tips for International Homebuyers
All foreigners are required to obtain an Alien Land Holding License in order to buy property in St. Lucia. The process will require a lawyer and can take about six to eight weeks to complete, according to the real estate website Global Property Guide. Buyers can expect to pay a deposit of 10% of the sales price of the home. There will also be stamp duties and legal fees. The broker’s commission is negotiable, but most agents will typically charge a fee of 6% of the sales price. These three properties in St. Lucia, all listed on Mansion Global, range in price from $1.75 million to just under $10 million.
