Listing of the Day
Location: Miami Beach, Florida
Price: $18.95 million
This waterfront spec house sits on a fairly quiet road that’s still close to Miami Beach nightlife.
“It’s brand-new construction with 12-foot ceilings on the first floor and 11-foot ceilings on the second floor,” said listing agent Nelson Gonzalez.
“It has all kinds of amenities that come with a new house, including two wine cellars—one for whites, one for reds,” he said. “There is a music system for inside and outdoors.”
You enter the house through a grand two-story atrium with dramatic 30-foot-tall ceilings and exposed rafters.
“The second you walk in the front door you see all the way through the house to the bay,” Mr. Gonzalez said.
The views face west, he said, “with great sunsets and the wide open bay. You can see water from everywhere in the house.”
The large living room has a fireplace and walnut walls. The home theater features a Savant-controlled surround system, 159-inch widescreen TV, and an entertainment bar with a slab of semi-precious gemstone.
The kitchen is all custom and imported from Italy, Mr. Gonzalez said. It has Calacatta marble counters, an island, Miele coffee maker and microwave, double Wolf oven and two Asko dishwashers. Next to the kitchen is a family room and breakfast area. There is also a formal dining room.
The upstairs master suite has his-and-hers marble bathrooms, two large walk-in closets, two large terraces, and water views.
The house has three interior gardens/courtyards, two of which have limestone fountains and living walls planted with orchids.
“The person who buys this house is going to be spending a lot of time outdoors,” he said. “This house lends itself to indoor-outdoor living.”
The furnishings are not included, but could be negotiated in a separate deal, Mr. Gonzalez said.
The 10,665-square-foot home has six bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two partial bathrooms. It sits on a 0.49-acre lot.
Amenities include a three-car garage, elevator, home gym, and waterfront home office with built-in wood shelves. Outdoors, there’s 85 feet of waterfront, a new Ipe dock suitable for large yachts, and a lush backyard with a heated pool, Argentine grill and outdoor kitchen, and a cabana bath.
“It’s close to South Beach, close to Bal Harbour—it’s sort of in the middle of both,” Mr. Gonzalez said.
“It’s where a lot of celebrities live,” he said. “I’ve sold to Cher, Billy Joel, the Bee Gees, Jennifer Lopez, Phil Collins.
The La Gorce Country Club, which has an 18-hole golf course as well as tennis and swimming, is nearby.
