Valerie Mnuchin, the New York City socialite and sister to U.S.Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin has just listed her penthouse apartment on Park Avenue for $14.25 million.

The price per square foot of the 4,100-square-foot property is $3,475.

City records show Ms. Mnuchin paid $8.35 million for the apartment in 2014. Since then, she’s embarked on some serious renovations, gutting the place and transforming it into a modern gallery-like space, per the listing.

Ms. Mnuchin, 49, is a lawyer and on the board of directors of the Child Mind Institute. She couldn’t be reached for comment.

From the look of the listing photos, which show white walls and large pieces of art on the walls, Ms. Mnuchin inherited her father’s taste for art. Robert Mnuchin, the former Goldman Sachs executive, is now an art dealer. He is the founder of the Mnuchin Gallery, found nearby at 45 East 78th Street. Her brother Steven Mnuchin was a hedge fund manager before his appointment to the White House earlier this year.

The building, on Park Avenue and 79th Street, was built in 1924 and contains just 10 co-op units, each with private elevator entry.

Listing broker Joan Swift of Douglas Elliman did not respond to requests for comment.
