"America’s Next Top Model" creator and host Tyra Banks has splashed out $6.99 million on a new and modern home in Los Angeles’s affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood.

Ms. Banks, 44, bought the home at the end of February through a trust attached to her mother, according to property records. The former model often uses her mother’s name for her real estate purchases, records show. Ms. Banks paid the full asking price for the home, which was originally listed in September.

Built in 2014, the five-bedroom house is equipped with smart home technology and has five-and-a-half bathrooms, high ceilings, wide plank flooring, a media room, a full bar, a wine cellar, agym, a guest suite and ocean and city views.

There is also a zero-edge pool and a roof deck with an outdoor kitchen, a fire pit and a hot tub, the listing said.

The 6,160-square-foot home has a "modern yet warm and inviting design," according to the listing with Amy Hollingsworth and Jamie Leff of Coldwell Banker, who did not respond to request for comment.

Ms. Banks, a California native, is currently hosting the 24th season of "America’s Next Top Model" on VH1 and will return as a judge on NBC’s "America’s Got Talent" in the spring. A representative for Ms. Banks did not immediately respond to request for comment.

She also owns a 7,000-square-foot Manhattan duplex in Battery Park City that she purchased in 2009 for $10.13 million. The five-bedroom penthouse, though currently unlisted, was last asking $17.5 million.

Variety first reported the sale.
