"America’s Next Top Model" host and real estate mover and shaker Tyra Banks has bagged a buyer for her home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Pacific Palisades—ever popular with the rich and famous.

The contemporary house sold last week for $8.9 million, listing records show, a little less than the $9.25 million it had been asking since hitting the market in May.

Ms. Banks, 44, bought the five-bedroom home in 2016 for $7.35 million, through a trust attached to her mother, according to property records. The former model often uses her mother’s name for her real estate purchases, records show.

Designed by Douglas Breidenbach, the 6,135-square-foot home is walled and gated for security and has a courtyard complete with a dining pavilion, an outdoor kitchen and a fireplace, according to the listing with James Respondek and Heidi Lake of Sotheby’s International Realty, who did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

It also has an office, a media room, a maid’s suite and mountain and ocean views, the listing said.

The buyer of the home shielded their identity using a limited liability company, property records show.

Ms. Banks, a California native, is currently judging the 13th season of NBC’s "America’s Got Talent." The most recent season of "America’s Next Top Model" wrapped up in April.

She’s no stranger to the property market. In 2016, she sold her long-time Beverly Hills home for $6.33 million and in March, she splashed out $6.99 million on a new Pacific Palisades home.

Ms. Banks also owns a 7,000-square-foot Manhattan duplex in Battery Park City that she purchased in 2009 for $10.13 million. The five-bedroom penthouse, though currently unlisted, was last asking $17.5 million in October 2017.

A representative for Ms. Banks did not immediately respond to request for comment.

The Los Angeles Times first reported the sale.
