“Die Hard” actor Bruce Willis is certainly giving new meaning to the saying “if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.”
Mr. Willis, 61, has cut the price of his Idaho home for at least the sixth time, Mansion Global has learned, having listed, unlisted and relisted the home several times at decreased prices since it was first put on the market for around $15 million back in 2011.
At $6.499 million, the latest asking price for the 23-acre Sun Valley compound, just re-listed with agent Engel & Völkers, is less than half the original asking price and the sixth consecutive price cut.
Situated between Hailey and Ketchum on Flying Heart Lake, 157 Aspen Lakes Dr., which he purchased in 2003, features an 8,400-square-foot main house with six bedrooms and landscaped grounds with ponds, streams and an outdoor pool complete with waterslides. He rebuilt the main house and added a guesthouse and gym after he bought the estate.
Travis Jones, a real estate adviser at Engel & Völkers, told Mansion Global that Mr. Willis decided to sell the home as he hadn’t been able to spend much time there over the past few years, given that this is just one of several properties that he owns. He also has a Manhattan apartment, a mansion in Bedford, New York, and a Los Angeles home.
He added that the fact that Mr. Willis has struggled to find a buyer for the home was purely a matter of “timing” as it originally came on the market during the economic downturn.
This is not the first time the “Fifth Element” star, who was formerly married to actress Demi Moore, has had trouble shifting one of his homes. Back in 2014, he sold his Beverly Hills hacienda for $16.5 million, $5.5 million less than the original asking price, although he still made a profit, having paid $9 million for it a decade earlier.
