Location: London, United Kingdom Price: £3.995 million (US$4.893 million)

A 1,625-square-foot penthouse across the street from London’s Victoria Station offers one of the hardest-to-find amenities in the British capital: A large, airy feel.

The two-bedroom duplex flat at 300 Vauxhall Bridge Road (a new construction),  features large, floor-to-ceiling windows and is built around a rooftop terrace with more than 850 square feet of space. The terrace has uninterrupted views of central London, and the main living room features a stunning city view.

The penthouse was built as an air rights addition to an older building—something that is common in other cities, but is still relatively rare in London, says Simon Tollit, of United Kingdom Sotheby’s International Realty. "It’s a purpose-built residential development that was constructed in the past 24 months," he says. It’s quite a new trend in London to buy the airspace and build."

Inside the duplex penthouse itself, there is an open living room and kitchen, a master bedroom with dressing room and attached bathroom, a second bedroom, and a large amount of storage space.
