A large beachfront property in Tiburon, California, a few miles from San Francisco, with a Stanley Saitowitz-designed 8,000-square-foot residence underway, is selling for $35 million.
The parcel is one of the five plots owned by art collector and dealer Serge Sorokko, who bought the 19 acres of land in 1999 for an undisclosed amount and spent more than a decade to get approval for subdivisions.

The 7.4-acre property now for sale is a rare find in the San Francisco Bay Area, Mr. Sorokko said.
"The property has a sizable land with access to a totally private sandy beach, and it’s just minutes away from the Golden Gate Bridge. Together with a modern home designed by a world-renowned architect, it’s practically non-existent," he told Mansion Global.
Mr. Saitowitz, a renowned San Francisco-based architect and an emeritus professor of architecture at the University of California, who is responsible for the New England Holocaust Memorial in Boston and the Tampa Museum of Art, has envisioned a minimalistic yet dramatic structure that blends into the surrounding hills, lawns and water.
The design blueprint has six bedrooms, five bathrooms and a powder room, a chef’s kitchen, a wine cellar, a screening room, a gymnasium, an infinity pool and a detached pool house.
"It is a joy to work on a property this special," Mr. Saitowitz said in a statement. "Serge’s bold vision and perseverance over nearly 20 years to bring this project to life with a team of architects that I’ve long admired are true rarities."
His design and the 7.4-acre land also is being offered for $12.75 million.
With the announcement of the Stanley Saitowitz-designed home last week, Mr. Sorokko also offered a neighboring 3.2-acre parcel with a 8,000-square-foot residence designed by San Francisco-based Craig Steely for $18 million. The land and design plan alone are also available for $4.25 million.
Both homes are slated for completion in 2019. Outdoor landscapes of both sites will be designed by Bernard Trainor of bernard trainor + associates.
Additionally, Mr. Sorokko has tapped British architect Sir David Adjaye to design a third plot.
The 19-acre property was previously owned by the same family for more than 100 years, according to Mr. Sorokko.
Bill Smith and Scott Woods of Pacific Union International have the listings. "It’s a very unique, large flat lot with access to a sandy beach. Besides, it has quick and easy access to the city and everything it offers," Mr. Smith said.
