British singer Sir Cliff Richard has slashed the price of his working vineyard in Portugal to €6.5 million (US$6.9 million). That’s an over-30% discount from the 30-acre estate’s original listing price.

He first listed the property, located in Algarve, Portugal’s southernmost region, for €9.5 million (US$10 million) last year, according to listing agent Zoie Hawker of Fine & Country.

The 76-year-old crooner, and former leader of British rock band The Shadows—who was often described as the U.K.’s own Elvis— opened Adega do Cantor (translated as Winery of the Singer) on the property in 2003 with business partners Nigel and Lesley Birch, according to Fine & Country.

While Sir Richard never lived on the estate, he does have a home nearby, Ms. Hawker said.

The singer took refuge in Portugal, according to news reports, during a two-year police sexual abuse investigation against him, which was dropped in June.

The sale of the Portuguese estate comes with all the equipment needed to carry on a line of wines, including fermenters and tanks. "Most of the vineyard operations are carried out by hand using the most sustainable and mildest agricultural products in a programme designed to prevent the onset of any vineyard diseases and achieve the highest possible quality," the listing states.

In addition to the adega, where wine is made and stored, there are three residential properties—each with its own swimming pool—on the estate. All three are currently being rented out during the summer months, Ms. Hawker said.

Across the three properties are 11 bedrooms—two houses have four bedrooms and one has three.

One of the houses, a four-bedroom that’s located further away from the other two, is also for sale on its own for €1.2 million (US$1.3 million).

There’s a tennis court on the estate, as well, which offers spectacular views of the vineyards and down to the coast, according to the listing. In fact, much of the property, said Ms. Hawker, has "ocean views and a lovely sea breeze from the Atlantic, which is good for the grapes."

A representative for Sir Richard did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
