Helped by their economic development and residents' stock-market wealth, Shanghai and Beijing accounted for most luxury home sales in China in the first half of the year. According to a report by Shanghai's Want China Times, with data fromTospur Real Estate Consulting, a total of 230 luxury homes, defined as properties priced over 50 million yuan (about $8 million), sold in China between January and June 2015. Shanghai and Beijing accounted for 84% of houses sold in that period. A total of 871 luxury homes changed hands from January 2010 through June 2015 in China.
