Tennis star Serena Williams has found a buyer for her 2.4-acre property at a swanky golf course in Jupiter, Florida.

Ms. Williams, 36, put the tree-covered parcel at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Bear’s Club on the market in November for $6.5 million and it has recently gone into contract, according to a change in the listing status on Friday.

The final sale price and buyer won’t be available until the property closes and is registered in property records. A rep for Ms. Williams did not immediately return a request for comment.

But The Bear’s Club, which reportedly boasts more than a dozen professional golfers as members, has some celebrity cache. Golf pro Rory McIlroy reportedly bought a home in the community from fellow pro Ernie Els.

Ms. Williams purchased the parcel of land from the developers of the golf club in 2013 for $4.125 million, according to property records, presumably to build a vacation home akin to the sprawling, amenity-rich mansions that dot the community.

But the pricey piece of land has remained vacant since she bought it and now the 23-time Grand Slam champion and new mom is looking to unload.

Hers is a relatively large lot compared to the others at the 400-acre golf course, with 1.8 acres of developable land, according to the listing with Michael and Andrew Leibowitz of Leibowitz Realty Group. The brokers did not immediately return a request for comment.

The celebrity athlete also put her six-bedroom Los Angeles mansion on the market for nearly $12 million at the end of October. (Also in October, Ms. Williams bought a new L.A. home for $6.68 million.)

Her golf club parcel is one of at least three properties Ms. Williams has in Palm Beach County. She has two homes in the city of Palm Beach Gardens, the smaller of which she co-owns with her sister, Venus.
